Leroy Mayers enters his fourth year bringing a wealth of International playing experience, Coach Mayers serves as our goalie specialist. Coach Mayers was a member of the Barbados Junior Squad and the Barbados National Senior Team from 1994 to 2003. Mayers also played in the 2003 Pan-American Games in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. He was a Gold Medalist in 1997 in the Caribbean Championships in Barbados and a Silver Medalist in 2002 at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) games in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Since 1991, Coach Mayers has been a player/assistant coach with Tri-State Falcons Field Hockey Club. His team won the Gold Medal at the International Tournament in Virginia Beach for two successive years (2003 and 2004). Tri-State has also won the North East Field Hockey Association (NEFHA) league five years in a row (1996-2001), and the Playoff Championships eight successive years (1996-2003). In 2004, Tri-State was the Silver Medalist at the USA Club Championships in Virginia, and represented NEFHA as the top Men’s team in the league this year at the USA Club Championships. In 1994, Coach Mayers competed at the U.S. Olympic Sports Festival in St. Louis, Missouri for the U.S. East Team, winning a Silver Medal and the following year capturing the Gold Medal.
Leroy Mayers graduated from Rutgers University in 1994 with a B.S. in Computer Science and received his Masters in Computer Engineering for the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in 2002.
