Coach Idania Fernandez is a 2008 graduate of Ramapo College with a bachelor's degree in Psychology.
In 2005, along with other alumni, Idania was one of the initial founders of the Ramapo College Dance Team and served as captain from 2007-2008.
She has also served as the dance team coach for Paramus Catholic High School from 2007-2011. She has led the team to local and national competition titles. This past season the Paramus Catholic Varsity dance team was ranked 2nd in the nation in the Jazz and Hip Hop categories.
Coach Fernandez aims to maintain proper technique and precision amongst the team in addition to providing quality training and valuable learning experiences for each student. She has been dancing for twenty years and choreographs jazz, hip-hop, pom, contemporary, and musical theater routines. She is always looking forward to providing innovative pieces of choreography for teams in the surrounding areas in addition to the Ramapo College dance team. She finds herself joyously creating new/intricate styles that mimic her passion for dance.
While in graduate school to obtain her M.A. in Counseling with a Specialization in School Counseling, she currently works for NBC Universal in Englewood Cliffs, NJ as a Scheduling Coordinator for the On-Air department.
