Every Ramapo College Athletic Team put together a Thanksgiving food basket for donation to the Center for Food Action in Mahwah.

Men's Basketball
Volunteered their time at the Brandywine assisted living home. The residents are big fans of the team and enjoyed talking about the success from last season and this season. They will be joining us at an upcoming basketball game
.

Men & Women's Swim Team
Meter's for Mike - Participated in Meter's for Mike, a fundraiser the teams have supported for the last several years. Michael Heaney, whom this event honors, is a former swimmer from the College of New Jersey. Mike suffered a traumatic brain injury in April 2012 that left him in a coma until he could no longer keep up his fight and passed away in November 2013. Friends, family, alumni, and the swimming community as a whole quickly helped to organize a 1,500-meter ocean swim to help Mike's family with his numerous medical bills. After Mike's passing, the money raised by this event has gone towards supporting charities aiding in the research of traumatic brain injuries. In the short time the swim has been around it has grown to one of the largest ocean swims in New Jersey, with over 500 swimmers each of the past 5 years.
Men’s Soccer
The team helped with Freshman Move In before school started to help the first year students feel welcome on their first day on campus.
Rally Cap Sports - The soccer team spent time playing soccer, basketball and football with kids and young adults with special needs. The event aimed to create a positive sports environment and greater self confidence for people with special needs.
Field Hockey
The team hosted a Play4TheCure game in October. They raised over $400 for the national foundation for cancer research!
The team collected toys at their end of the year banquet to be donated to families in need this holiday season.
Women’s Volleyball
The team helped with Freshman Move In before school started to help the first year students feel welcome on their first day on campus.
Rally Cap Sports - The volleyball team spent time playing soccer, basketball and football with kids and young adults with special needs. The event aimed to create a positive sports environment and greater self confidence for people with special needs. They also donated money to relief efforts in Puerto Rico, the women's team traveled to PR for their season opener this season.
The team collected food to be donated to the Mahwah Center for Food Action for Thanksgiving meal baskets.
Women’s Basketball
JDRF Diabetes Walk in Avon - The Women’s Basketball team joined their coach and his family for the JDRF walk. They donated money for research and walked to spread awareness for Type 1 Diabetes.
2017 Rama-THON
Women's Basketball senior Bridgette Buckalew at the Special Olympics Basketball Tournament.
Baseball Team
The team co-sponsored a homerun derby to raise money for breast cancer with Theta Phi Alpha Sorority. They also partnered with Ridgewood High School in Ridgewood, NJ in their fundraising efforts for Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Harvey. The team helped run a successful event along with Project Interact at Ridgewood High School at their "Taco's for Texas & Florida" fundraiser. The group raised over $6,000 for hurricane relieve in Texas and Florida.
The team also volunteered at the Mahwah Center for Food Action before Thanksgiving.
Women's Lacrosse
At the lacrosse fall ball tournament, our team wore pink headbands to support breast cancer awareness. They also donated to Susan G.Komen to support the cause. Lacrosse team members participated in a 3v3 basketball tournament for the American Cancer Association in collaboration with Valley Hospital.

Volunteered at a volleyball fundraiser at Passaic Valley High school. The fundraiser tournament was in honor of Colin McNeill, a Passaic Valley High School alum as well as Ramapo College men's volleyball alum.

Women's Tennis
Women's tennis Co-Sponsored an After Dark event with the the French Club on March 29th. The event was a Global Soirée that was filled with food and activities as an alternative to alcohol and drug use! Women's tennis helped setup and run the activities at the event! The team also collected food for Thanksgiving Baskets.
Softball Team
Had a softball clinic for the team who raised the most money for breast cancer research.
