Eligibility
Participation in all intramural activities is limited to current RCNJ students, faculty, and staff. RCNJ intercollegiate team members and professional athletes are not allowed to participate in their sports. The captain of each team is responsible for verifying the eligibility of each team member. Players are not allowed to play for more than one team. To be eligible for intramural participation, individuals must have entered his/her name on the team/activity roster and have signed the intramural waiver. The event supervisor has the authority to ask any player to produce identification before the start of a game. A player who cannot produce such I.D. will not be permitted to participate. Any team using an ineligible player(s) will forfeit all games in which that person or persons took part.

Postponement
The intramural coordinator is the only individual who will make decisions regarding the postponements and rescheduling of contests. Due to weather conditions and availability of facilities, there are no set guarantees as to the number of games that will be played. In the event of inclement weather, it shall be the responsibility of each team captain to contact the intramural coordinator.

Forfeits
Forfeit time shall be 10 minutes after the scheduled starting time of the contest. When teams or individuals fail to appear at the scheduled time, the intramural coordinator shall forfeit the contest to the team or individual that reported on time. If both teams fail to appear, the game will be dropped from the schedule.
Forfeited contests will not be rescheduled. They will be recorded as losses.

Responsibility of Team Captains
A team captain must represent each team. The captain is the official representative of the team in all matters concerning the team and is a liaison between the team members and the intramural coordinator and intramural staff.
Team captains must: Complete the roster/waiver form, with all of the participants’ signatures and submit it prior to entry deadlines; attend all captain’s meetings, be responsible for the team’s conduct, and follow the rules and regulations.

Intramural Directors
The intramural directors are the final authority during an intramural activity. Contest officials and supervisors make intramural events possible and deserve the cooperation of the participants.
ANYONE abusing the intramural staff will be expelled from all intramural participation for the remainder of the academic year. Teams or individuals that do not conduct themselves in a proper manner will be prohibited from participating in all intramural activities.

Alcohol/Drugs Policy
Consuming alcohol and/or drugs before or during an intramural or recreational event is strictly prohibited. Any participant violating this regulation, which shall be determined by the officials, supervisor or intramural directors, will not be permitted to participate in the contest. Alcohol is prohibited in any athletic facility at Ramapo College of New Jersey.

Sportsmanship
All participants are expected to conduct themselves properly. Unsportsmanlike conduct will be dealt with immediately. Officials may eject any individual for poor conduct.
