Mahwah, NJ: The #5 ranked Kean University baseball team shutout Ramapo College this afternoon at Jim Hynes Stadium, 3-0. The Cougars move to 18-4-1 overall, 3-0 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 12-8 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the fifth inning when the Cougars put two runs on the board. Mike Colonello led off with a walk before moving to second on a sac bunt. Dominic Masino then laced a triple to left-center field for the 1-0 lead. Following the second out of the inning, Kean worked back-to-back walks to load the bases before Masino scored on a wild pitch, 2-0. Dan Reistle led off the sixth with a four-pitch walk, stole second then third base before later scoring on a Ramapo error to push the score, 3-0. The Cougars would hold the Roadrunners scoreless the remainder of the game to secure the NJAC victory.

James Kahn (1-3) spun a two-hitter in the loss with seven strikeouts and five walks in five innings of work.
Kevin Penny struck out three and walked one and did not give up a hit in the final three innings of action. For Kean, Lucas White (4-1) earned the win with seven strikeouts and three walks while surrendering all six hits. Noah Rivera earned his third save of the season working a scoreless ninth to preserve the win.
The two teams will meet in Mahwah at Jeff Maund Field tomorrow afternoon to wrap-up the NJAC home-and-home series. First pitch is set for 3:30 PM.
