Wayne, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team defeated William Paterson University, 3-1, in NJAC action today for their fifth win in the last seven games. The Roadrunners improve to 7-3-2 overall and 2-1-1 in the conference while the Pioneers drop to 3-7-2 overall and 1-3 in the NJAC.
Emanuel Lazor put Ramapo on the board in the 19th minute (18:23) with his first goal of the season before Davide Zamuner tied the game with a goal for WPU in the 24th minute (23:34) on a free kick. The two teams remained tied until the 89th minute (88:35) when
Kyle Allen tallied the eventual game-winning goal, his second of the season, off assists from
Dino Radoncic and
Luca Cascio.
Lucas Mielnikiewicz added an insurance goal with just 12 seconds remaining in regulation (89:48), his second of the year, for the 3-1 final.
Ramapo held an 11-5 advantage in shots on goal while both teams recorded five corner kicks.
Zachary Natt posted four saves in the win while William Paterson goalkeeper Luca Misko collected seven saves.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 14th when they host Rutgers-Camden University in NJAC action at the Athletic Center at 7:00pm.
