Mahwah, NJ: The College of New Jersey men's basketball team defeated Ramapo College 85-59 this afternoon at the Bradley Center. The Lions improve to 15-5 overall and 10-3 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 5-15 overall and 4-9 in the league.
After a close first half where TCNJ's Mason Mangione drained a three-pointer with two seconds remaining to give the Lions a four-point lead at halftime 28-24; TCNJ would pour in 57 points in the second half as they held Ramapo to just 35. The Lions took 34 three-pointers in the game as they converted on 12 of them while they shot 85% (17-20) from the free throw line and 46% (28-60) from the field. TCNJ was led by Nick Koch who recorded 27 points as he shot 9-11 from the floor, 3-4 from the three-point line and 6-6 from the free throw line. He added nine assists and six rebounds. Matthew Solomon posted a double double of 15 points and ten rebounds while adding three assists, one block and one steal.
Eliah Barlow led the way for the Roadrunners as he posted 16 points while he finished 7-7 from the free throw line. Orion Micken posted his second straight double double game with 14 points and 12 rebounds. The Roadrunners shot 29% (19-64) from the field, 21% (3-14) from the three-point line and 85% (18-21) from the free throw line.
Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Montclair State University for a NJAC game set for 7:30 PM.
