Salisbury, MD: The #3 seeded Ramapo College baseball team came back to defeat #4 seeded JWU Providence today at the NCAA Salisbury Regional, 10-6. The Roadrunners (28-15) advance to play in a second elimination game this afternoon at 3:30pm. The Wildcats end their season at 28-15 overall.
Johnson & Wales took a 1-0 lead in the second on an RBI ground out before Ramapo took a two-run lead in the third inning.

Zach Novakowski plated Caruso with an RBI single of his own for the 2-1 lead. Both teams scored in the fourth as the Wildcats tied the game with one run on an RBI single before Ramapo plated two runs. Klawans came up big with the bases loaded and laced a single through the right side as Dominic Ciani and
Jesse Swartout scored for a 4-2 lead. A home run from Jack Obert in the fifth brought JWU within one before they added three runs on two hits while aided by one Ramapo error to take a 6-4 lead.
In the seventh, the Roadrunners tacked on five runs on five hits. Caruso worked a lead-off walk before moving to second on a wild pitch, Bailey then drove him in with an RBI single to left. Bailey then advanced to third on a failed pick-off attempt at first as the ball sailed wide into foul ball territory. With one out,
John Higgins came up big and drove in Bailey with an RBI single to right field to tie the game. Higgins stole second before Swartout singled to put runners on the corners. Ciani then laced a single to left field which allowed Higgins to touch home plate for the 7-6 lead.
Brandon Tauber then smacked a double to right-center as Swartout came around to score 8-6 before
Eric Knapp lifted a sac fly to extend the lead, 9-6.
In the bottom of the eighth with two outs, Swartout drove in Novakowski with a big RBI double to extend the Roadrunner lead, 10-6. The Roadrunners shutdown the Wildcats in the ninth to close out the game and advance in the NCAA Tournament.
Nick Danbrowney (7-3) worked the final 2.2 innings of the game to earn the win on the mound. He struck out four, including his 223rd of his career which sets the new program record. He let up just one hit and walked none.
Jack Martin started for the Roadrunners as he struck out four, walked one and surrendered seven hits and five runs (two earned) in 5.1 innings of work.
Ryan Lasko worked 1.1 innings of relief as he let up three hits and one unearned run.Â
