Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College baseball team defeated Maritime College 6-1 today at Jeff Maund Field as head coach
Ryan Rinsky earned his 100th career coaching victory. The Roadrunners improve to 22-12 overall while the Privateers move to 20-11 overall.
Zack Bailey drove in
Jack Tallent with an RBI single in the bottom of the first for a quick 1-0 lead. Maritime would score their lone run on a wild pitch in the second before the Roadrunners added five runs in the second.
Sean Donaghue drove in
Zach Novakowski and
Robert Klawans with a two-RBI single before Bailey drove in two more runs with a hard hit single to center field, 5-1.
John Higgins laced a single through the left side of the infield which allowed Tallent to score for the 6-1 lead.
James Garthaffner (1-0) earned the win on the mound for Ramapo. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered just four hits and one run in six innings of work.
Jake Depetris pitched the seventh while he let up just one hit while
Will Kennedy pitched the eighth with two strikeouts, no walks and let up just one hit.
Ryan Lasko worked the final inning and held Oneonta to no hits. Bailey finished 3-4 with three RBI at the plate for Ramapo while Tallent finished 2-3 with two runs scored.
The Roadrunners return to action on Thursday, April 25th when they travel to the home of the Trenton Thunder to take on the College of New Jersey at 6:00 PM.
