Mahwah, NJ:  Vincent Timpanelli, Ramapo College baseball alum and current Cincinnati Reds minor league player, has been named to Team Italy's roster for the upcoming World Baseball Classic. Timpanelli has been named to the roster as a pitcher.
 
This is the fifth time the Classic will be played since it began in 2006. Team Japan won in 2006 and 2009 while Team Dominican Republic won in 2013 and Team USA won in 2017. The Classic is returning after a two-year hiatus and will open play on March 8th. There are a total of 20 teams that will play a round-robin style of play in four different pools. Team Italy is in pool A and those games will take place in Taichung, Taiwan. Pool A consists of Team Chinese Taipei, Team Netherlands, Team Cuba, Team Italy and Team Panama. Games will be broadcast on the FOX Sports network of channels along with MLB.com, WorldBaseballClassic.com. More information can be found here.
 
Pool play wraps up on March 15th while the Quarterfinals will be played in both Tokyo, Japan and Miami, Florida. The Semifinals (March 19th & 20th) and Championship (March 21st ) will both be played in Miami.
