Dallas, PA: The Ramapo College women's swim placed 5th at the Cougar Splash hosted by Misericordia University at the Dallas High School Aquatic Center. The Roadrunners recorded 237.5 points in the two-day meet.
The meet was highlighted by
Meghan Cortez-Fields who won the 100-yard butterfly with a new program record time of 57.22 seconds. Cortez-Fields also won the 200-yard IM out-touching the second place finisher in 2:12.05.
Ramapo finished 5th in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a combined time of 1:41.89, the team was made up of
Valeria Pages,
Cami Yovich, Cortez-Fields and
Camila Mercado. Alaze Sudupe finished 3rd in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:24.05 while Yovich finished 4th in 5:24.34. In the 100-yard breaststroke, Yovich placed 5th overall in 1:10.21 while Mercado finished 9th in 1:10.97. Sudupe grabbed a third place finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle when she touched the wall in 18:17.23 while Yovich posted a 4th place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke clocking in at 2:32.89.
Grace Korey placed 7th in the same event with a time of 2:35.08 while Mercado was 9th in 2:39.10.
Fifi Amanuel recorded a time of 1:10.30 while
Rachel Vazquez posted a time of 1:15.22 in the 100-yard backstroke. Cortez-Fields posted a time of 2:17.85 in the 200-yard butterfly for a 2nd place finish while the 400-yard freestyle relay team placed 4th overall with a combined time of 3:42.22. The team was made up of Pages, Cortez-Fields, Yovich and Mercado.
The Roadrunners return to action on Friday, December 8th at Montclair State University where they will take on the host Red Hawks and Rowan University at 4:00 PM.
