Wayne, NJ: The Ramapo College men's swim team defeated William Paterson University, 128-57. The Roadrunners move to 2-1 overall while the Pioneers now stand at 5-2 overall.
The Roadrunners won seven events in the dual meet while rookie
Jack Hill set yet another Ramapo College record in the 100-yard IM. Hill tapped the wall in 53.61 seconds, breaking the record set in 2019.
Thomas Breen and
Caleb Baron finished second and third in the same event as Ramapo swept the top three spots with times of 1:00.23 and 1:00.34.
The 200-yard medley relay team finished first with a combined time of 1:49.37 as the team was made up of
Brendan McDevitt,
Tyler Moore,
Giovanni Alvarez and
Joe Swede. Ramapo finished 1-2 in the 50-yard freestyle as Breen and
Alessandro Alvarez clocked in with times of 23.25 and 23.64 respectively. The Roadrunners also swept the 100-yard butterfly as
Benjamin Gomez (55.32 seconds), Alvarez (57.58 seconds) and
Ryan Gallacher (58.98 seconds) finished 1-2-3. Alvarez and Moore finished 1-2 in the 100-yard freestyle with times of 52.52 seconds and 52.94 seconds while McDevitt won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.23. Ramapo once again swept the 100-yard breaststroke with Moore taking first place (1:04.09), Baron placing second (1:10.54) and
Josh Yee (1:11.87) taking home third place. The 200-yard freestyle relay team grabbed a first place finish with a combined time of 1:32.77. The team was made up of Hill, Swede, Breen and Gomez.
The Roadrunners return to action on Friday, November 17th when they travel to Misericordia University as they host the Cougar Splash through Saturday evening. Friday's session begins at 6:00 PM.
