Union, NJ: The #6 seeded Ramapo College baseball team advanced in the NJAC Tournament with a 3-1 over #2 seeded Montclair State University. The Roadrunners will move onto face #3 William Paterson University tonight at 7pm at host Kean University.
MSU got on the board in the second inning with one run before Ramapo tied the game in the fourth inning.
Sean Donaghue brought home
Justin Garthaffner with a double into the right-center field gap to tie the game, 1-1. In the sixth,
Joe Wisniewski laced a single to left-center field which allowed
Matt Lalomia to score to take a 2-1 lead. Ramapo got an insurance run in the eighth inning when
Matt Carovillano connected on his team leading 10th home run of the season.
James Garthaffner (3-3) earned the win on the mound for the Roadrunners. He struck out five, scattered seven hits and let up just one run in seven complete innings pitched.
Will Paoli earned his fourth save of the season with two complete innings as he entered the game with runners in scoring position for MSU. Paoli struck out two and surrendered just one hit.
