Geneva, OH: Day one of the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships came to a close seeing
Cheickna Traore advance to the finals of the 200m dash while the women's 4x100-meter relay team posted their second best time this season.
Traore set a new NCAA Outdoor Championship Meet Record and broke his own school record with a time of 20.73 seconds in the 200m dash. Traore advances to Saturday in the event and will compete for a NCAA Title on Saturday, May 28th at 2:50pm. Traore will compete in the 400m dash tomorrow afternoon at 3:15pm.
The women's 4x100-meter relay team, made up of
Delilah Cruz,
Rebecca Kneppel,
Meredith Yaskovic and
Gbarper Dwah posted a combined time of 47.16 seconds. This is their second-best time of the season as they finished in 14th place in the prelims this afternoon. The top nine teams advanced to Saturday's Championship race.
