Wayne, NJ: The Ramapo College men's swim team defeated NJAC rival William Paterson University tonight, 110-72. The Roadrunners move to 2-4 overall and 1-4 in the conference while the Pioneers now stand at 9-3 overall and 0-3 in the NJAC.
The 200-yard medley relay 'A' team clocked in with a time of 1:46.25 for a first place finish. The team was made up of
Devin Alejado,
Emile Eeckhout,
Benjamin Gomez and
Josh Templeton. The 'B' team place second in a combined time of 1:48.91. The team was made up of
Chris Lee, Joshua Yee,
Alessandro Alvarez and
Giovanni Alvarez.
Individually, Jeff Horn won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:26.88 while
Caleb Baron placed second in 5:33.89. Eeckhout,
Michael Sooy and Horn went 1-2-3 in the 200-yard freestyle with times of 2:00.96, 2:01.07 and 2:01.49 respectively. In the 50-yard freestyle, Gomez (22.39 seconds), Lee (23.11 seconds) and
Tyler Moore (24.80 seconds) finished 1-2-3 overall. De Leon won the 200-yard IM in 2:10.38 while Moore won the 100-yard butterfly in 57.28 seconds. G. Alvarez placed second in the same event in 58.31 while A. Alvarez was third in 1:00.16. Templeton took home a first place finish in the 100-yard freestyle in 52.94 seconds while De Leon was second (53.25 seconds) and Sooy was third in 55.03 seconds.
Brendan McDevitt and Alejado went 1-2 in the 100-yard backstroke with times of 57.29 seconds and 58.29 seconds respectively.
The Roadrunners return to action on Sunday, January 30th when they travel to Widener University for a non-conference meet at 11am.
