Annandale, NY:  The Ramapo College women's team defeated Bard College today 8-1 on the road. The Roadrunners stand at 1-0 overall while the Raptors move to 0-4 overall.
 
Ramapo collected three team points during doubles action. Melanie Brentnall and Melanie Colon-Leon earned an 8-3 win at first doubles while Roshay Baez and Mackenzie Dates collected an 8-1 win at third doubles. Marina Kaiafas and Kassie Britt posted a shutout at second doubles, 8-0.
 
Brentnall posted a 6-1, 6-1 win at first singles while Kaiafas won 6-1, 6-2 at second singles. Colon-Leon earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at third singles and Baez posted a 6-1, 6-3 victory at fourth singles. Britt played a super set at fifth singles for an 8-4 win.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, October 6th when they host Drew University in a non-conference match at 4pm.
