Glassboro, NJ: The Rowan University women's soccer team defeated Ramapo College 2-0 tonight in the first NJAC match-up of the season. The Profs improve to 6-1 overall and 1-0 in the conference while the Roadrunners now stand at 0-5 overall and 0-1 in the NJAC.
Sarah Bergan scored in the 10th minute (9:28) to put the Profs on the board off a pass from Kalin Priest. Rowan held a 17-3 advantage in shots in the first half including 8-1 on goal while they also posted two corner kicks.
Makenna Tahbaz tallied seven saves in the first half for Ramapo while Rowan goalkeeper, Bristol Pizzuto tallied one.
In the second half, Bergan helped extend the Prof lead to 2-0 as she assisted on Nina Carlson's goal in the 25th minute (24:41). For the game, Rowan recorded 16 shots on goal to Ramapo's one. Tahbaz collected 14 saves in the game while facing 31 shots.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 22nd when they travel to Moravian University for a non-conference game at 7pm.
