Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's tennis team opened the 2021 season with an 8-1 win over Kean University. The Roadrunners move to 1-0 overall and 1-0 in the NJAC while the Cougars fall to 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
The Roadrunners swept all three doubles matches.
Francesca Chicherchia and
Marina Kaiafas earned an 8-6 win at first doubles while
Melanie Brentnall and
Nicole Graham won by the same score at second doubles.
Alisa Vibulbhan and
Roshay Baez recorded an 8-4 victory at third doubles.
Chicherchia earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at first doubles while Brentnall posted a 6-0, 6-1 win at third singles. Graham shut out her opponent at fourth doubles, 6-0 & 6-0 while Vibulbhan posted a 6-4, 6-1 victory at fifth singles. Rounding out the night Baez posted a 6-2, 6-0 win at sixth singles.
The Roadrunners return to action on Thursday, April 8th when they host William Paterson University in a NJAC match at 5pm.
