Mahwah, NJ: The #3 seeded Ramapo College men's soccer team faced off with the #6 seeded Gothic Knights of New Jersey City University in the quarter-final round of the NJAC Championship Tournament where Ramapo came out on top, 3-0 to improve to 3-1-1 overall. NJCU falls to 0-5.
The game's first half went scoreless as the Roadrunners outshot the Gothic Knights, 11-2. Ramapo earned five corners in the half and
Joshua Schaffer went untested with zero saves. Nick Linebaugh made five saves for NJCU in the first 45 minutes of play.
Ramapo would get on the board off a header from
Damian Zurawski off a free kick from
Massimo Gallorini with 41:56 left to play.
Dorant Bokshi would put the Roadrunners on top with 35:39 to play as the assist came from Zurawski and
Matthew Blair. Sophomore
Andrew Greitz off an assist from
Mujtaba Aslamy gave Ramapo the 3-0 advantage, which stood until the final buzzer.
In the second half, Ramapo led in shots, 8-4 as they earned two additional corners. Schaffer made two saves and Linebaugh made two more to close out the half.
With the victory the Roadrunners advance to the semi-finals on Saturday when they travel to the #2 seeded William Paterson Pioneers.
