TCNJ SWEEPS RAMAPO IN SOFTBALL ACTION

Ewing, NJ:  The Ramapo College softball team dropped a double header to the Lions of The College of New Jersey today on the road in a NJAC conference match-up.  With the pair of losses, the Roadrunners fall to 0-4 while TCNJ improves to 2-2 overall.

In game one, the Lions jumped ahead 6-0 lead before Nicole Cerasi scored on a ground ball by Foster Schaffer to get the Roadrunners on the board in the top of the 4th.  TCNJ would tack on an additional run in the bottom inning to go ahead 7-1 and Ramapo's Carli Egan scored off a double by Mahogany Wheeler in the 6th to close the gap 2-7.  It wasn't enough as Alamma Namit closed out the game for TCNJ from the mound to get the 7-2 win.

Egan went 2-4 with one run scored and Cerasi scored one run hitting 0-2.  Thu Deo got a hit and Melody Gleason and Carley Layton each got a hit of their own.  Wheeler pitched the full game for Ramapo striking out two.  She walked four on the day.

In game two, TCNJ came out strong posting four runs in the 1st inning, another three in the 4th and one in the 5th to close out the Roadrunners 8-0 in game two.  Avery Bartolomeo, Jaclyn Monaco, and Layton each collected a hit in the game.  Megan Giesecke pitched the full game for Ramapo as Gillian Roberts went the full game for TCNJ striking out one and walking one.
