Mahwah, NJ: The SUNY New Paltz men's volleyball team defeated Ramapo College 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-19) tonight at the Bradley Center in non-conference action. The Hawks, who are ranked #3 in the latest AVCA Top 15 Poll, improve to 14-3 overall. The Roadrunners now stand at 12-8 on the year.
Two Hawks recorded double digit kills in the match while Aaron Clark led the way with 15 while he hit .542 overall. He also led the team on defense with ten digs while he added one assisted block. Brendan Spulnick collected 11 kills while he added five digs and one assist. Tevin Skeete and John Ronan each posted six kills while Skeete added two solo blocks. Matthew Grace dished out a team high 37 assists while posting six digs and two aces. The team hit .393 in the match with 45 total kills with just ten errors on 89 attempts.
The Roadrunners were led by
Jason van der Wilt who put down eight kills while he added six digs and two blocks.
Conor Charlow posted six kills while he hit .400 in the match, he also added two digs and two blocks.
Eric Van Thuyne posted five kills, four digs and one block while
Andrew Finnegan collected four kills and two digs for Ramapo.
Josh Titus recorded 25 assists in the match along with five digs and one ace.
Tyler Plitt led the team on defense with nine digs while he added one assist. The Roadrunners hit .213 in the match with 27 kills on 75 attempts and 11 errors.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, March 7th when they travel to the College of Mount Saint Vincent for a Skyline tri-match. They will take on CMSV at 11am and St. Joseph's College Brooklyn at 1pm.
