MEN'S BASKETBALL TOPS KEAN IN KEY NJAC GAME 79-43

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball team earned a solid NJAC win against Kean University 79-43 tonight at the Bradley Center. The Roadrunners improve to 13-8 overall, 9-5 in the NJAC while the Cougars fall to 5-16 overall and 2-12 in the conference.
 
The Roadrunners came out strong with a 12-0 run in the first half, with buckets from Jordan Zagadou, Rob McWilliams and Marquise Kindel. Ramapo continued to rally as Andre Morgan and Zagadou each recorded a dunk in the half. The Cougars tried to get some energy with a three-pointer from Jailen Jamison, but the Roadrunners keep pushing as they went on an impressive 33-0 point run to give them a strong lead going into halftime 49-12. The Roadrunners were led by Zagadou with 14 points and Kindel with 13 points. Kindel also grabbed up a team high eight rebounds. Ramapo shot 63.6% (21-33) from the field. Kean was led by Jamison who tallied six points. The Cougars shot 18.2% (4-22) from the field.
 
McWilliams sank a pair of free throws to start the second half before Nate Lyles converted one free throw while a pair of free throws from Zagadou put Ramapo up 53-13. Jailen Jamison and Jared Latane tallied back-to-back jumpers before Latane sank a three-pointer. Mansfield Warren connected on a jumper and a pair of free throws before Latane once again sank a three-pointer from Kean before Matt Lataka started an 8-3 run with a layup. Ramapo's biggest lead of the game came with 3:53 on the clock as Kindel tallied a layup 77-37 before Latane sank a three-pointer for Kean once again. Kean finished the game on a 10-2 run as the Roadrunners earned a convincing 79-43 conference victory.
 
The Roadrunners were led by Kindel who recorded a double-double of 17 points and ten rebounds while Zagadou added 16 points and five rebounds. McWilliams grabbed ten rebounds and added eight points while Frank Venezia contributed with eight points off the bench including 2-3 from the three-point line. Ramapo shot 52.5% (31-59) from the field in the game.
 
The Cougars were led by three players who scored in double figures, Latane with 13 and Tyrese Johnson and Jamison with 10 apiece. Kean shot 34.1% (15-44) from the field in the game.
 
The Roadrunners return to action this Saturday when they travel to NJAC rival TCNJ for a game at 3pm.
