Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball team won a crucial NJAC conference game this afternoon against Stockton University, 69-53, their seventh straight victory. The Roadrunners improve to an 11-7 overall record and are 7-4 in the NJAC while the Ospreys now stand at 11-7 overall and 8-3 in the NJAC.
The highlight of today's game was
Rob McWilliams becoming the 22
nd Roadrunner to break through the 1,000 point milestone with a jumper from inside the three-point line.  In their NJAC win, Ramapo was led by
Jordan Zagadou who totaled 14 points, and was closely followed by
Jason Battle and McWilliams with 13 points apiece. Â
Marquise Kindel stepped up on defense, totaling a team high nine rebounds. The Roadrunners shot 44.1% (26-59) from the field, 17.6% (3-17) from the three-point line and 77.8% (14-18) from the free-throw line.Â

The Roadrunners came out on fire as they lit up the scoreboard with a 12-0 run. The Ospreys tried to throw off the Roadrunner's momentum with some jumpers from the paint shot by Jordan Taylor, but Ramapo's Manny Warren kept the fire burning when he sank a three-point goal from the top of the key. The Ospreys made it into double-digits with a three from Luciano Lubrano along the baseline, but they still trailed the Roadrunners, 12-23. A pair of jumpers from McWilliams, and one each from Battle and Zagadou, pushed the Roadrunners into the 30s, leaving the Ospreys in the dust, 31-15. Stockton attempted to get some momentum with a three-point goal from DJ Campbell, but Ramapo's Battle quickly answered with a quick jumper from the paint. Both teams traded baskets as they headed into the locker room, still leaving a 13-point gap with the Roadrunners up, 40-27.Â

Ramapo had a very spread out offense with nets from seven players, led by Zagadou who claimed nine points of his own. Ramapo beat Stockton to the boards, collecting 20 rebounds as a team, led by Kindel and Zagadou with four rebounds apiece. The Roadrunners shot 51.5% (17-33) from the field, 22.2% (2-9) from the three-point line and 57.1% (4-7) from the free-throw line. Â The Ospreys were led by Campbell who totaled seven points to contribute to the team's total of 27. Steve Ferebree held Stockton's defense together with a team high five rebounds. Stockton shot 38.5% (10-26) from the field, 30.8% (4-13) from the three-point line and 50% (3-6) from the free-throw line.Â

In the second half the Ospreys came out with momentum, sinking back-to-back three-point goals from Taylor and Kyion Flanders, slowly approaching the Roadrunners, 33-48. Ramapo kept playing their game, going on an 8-point run, started off by a layup cut through the paint from Kindel and capped with a free-throw shot from McWilliams. Both teams relentlessly traded baskets from the field, with Ramapo keeping a safe gap between the Ospreys, with a score of 65-47 heading into the final five minutes.  Stockton tried to get back in the game with a three-point goal from Taylor that ignited their bench, but a fiery hail-mary pass from Kindel to
Connor Romano immediately translated into an easy two points for the Roadrunners, leading to their victory.Â

In their fall to Ramapo, Stockton was led by Taylor who found himself with 17 points, closely followed by Campbell with 12. The Osprey's defense was led by Jordan Williams with seven rebounds. Stockton shot 37.7% (20-53) from the field, 29% (9-31) from the three-point line and 50% (4-8) from the free-throw line.Â

th when they travel to Montclair State University for an NJAC matchup against the Hawks at 8pm.Â
