Mahwah, NJ: The Roadrunner men's soccer team played host to the Panthers of Old Westbury today as they earned a 3-0 shut out win to improve to 3-0-3 on the year. The Panthers fall to 2-3-1. Ramapo was led by senior
Joseph Fala with two goals.
In the 26
th minute the Roadrunners got on the board as Fala connected on a pass from
Justin Charkowski to take a 1-0 lead. The goal was Fala's second of the year. Just over one minute later the roles reversed as Fala slipped the ball to Charkowski who would rip the ball in the back of the net past the diving netminder. The goal was also his second of the season.
The Roadrunners dominated in shots in the half leading 12-3 while they led in corners, 2-1.
Noah Beverin made one save in goal for Ramapo and James Perciballi collected four saves for the Panthers.
In the second half, Fala put the Roadrunners on top, 3-0 taking a pass from
Diego Galiz at 76:41. The two teams would play the remainder of the game scoreless as Ramapo walked away with the non-conference 3-0 shut out.
The Roadrunners held a slight advantage in shots in the second half at 7-6 while Beverin made one save. Perciballi made one save for Old Westbury. The Panthers held a 4-3 advantage in corners in the final 45 minutes of play.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday at 3pm when they travel to New Jersey City University.
