Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College baseball team has earned the #3 seed in the 2019 New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament. The Roadrunners will host #4 seed the College of New Jersey tomorrow afternoon at Jeff Maund Field at 3:30pm. The first round of the tournament will be held at the higher seed before the remainder of the tournament moves to Kean University as they serve as the host for the weekend portion, with games beginning on Friday. Ticket sales will be $5 for adults; $2 for children, seniors and students.
2019 NJAC Baseball Bracket
Ramapo is making their 10th tournament appearance in the last 13 seasons and their fourth straight. The Roadrunners won the 2016 NJAC crown while the last two seasons the team has earned tournament runner-up. The winner of the tournament earns the conference's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Baseball Tournament. Ramapo and TCNJ split their NJAC double header on April 6th in Mahwah. Ramapo won game one 7-2 while the Lions took game two 6-3.
Philip Mahlik leads Ramapo at the plate with a .427 batting average including 41 hits. He's also recorded 22 runs, 14 RBI while he's 6-9 in stolen bases this season.
Liam Duffy is second on the team with a .372 batting average while
Kyle Buser leads the team with 32 RBI and is second on the team with 37 hits.
Kellen Hardy is third on the team with a .369 average and a team high 11 doubles.
On the mound,
Kyle Haag lead the team with 13 appearances while he is 4-2 this season with 34 strikeouts over 26 innings pitched.
Greg Westhelle and
Jeff Millet each have 12 appearances while Westhelle holds a 1.40 ERA with five saves and 20 strikeouts over 19.1 innings pitched.
Kevin Stewart boasts a 1.81 ERA with a team leading 5-0 win-loss record in six starts this season. He leads the team with 52 strikeouts over 39.2 innings pitched.
