Randor, PA:  The Cabrini University baseball team defeated Ramapo College today in non-conference action, 8-4. The Cavaliers improve to 15-4 overall while the Roadrunners even their record at 6-6 overall.

Cabrini got on the board in the bottom of the first inning by scoring an unearned run with two outs for a 1-0 lead. Ramapo then took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third inning. Justin Grippo led off the inning with a double before Kyle Lisa singled with one out to put runners on first and third. A failed pickoff attempt by the Cavaliers allowed Grippo to score to tie the game, 1-1, while Lisa moved to second. Vincenzo Sita then put the Roadrunners in the lead with a single through the left side of the infield which allowed Lisa to come around and score.

In the bottom of the third inning, Cabrini's Brandon Loner connected on a grand slam to take a 5-2 lead. Ramapo tacked on one run in both the fifth and sixth inning to close the gap. In the fifth, Liam Duffy drove home Lisa with a two-out single, 3-5. Lisa laced a double in to the left-center field gap earlier in the inning. Bryan Franko led off the top of the sixth for Ramapo with a single to right field before pinch-hitter Vincent Timpanelli was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second with no outs. A sac bunt from Grippo moved them up one base before a fielder's choice allowed Franko to score, 4-5.
