Mahwah, NJ: In a men's volleyball tri-match at the Bradley Center today, the Roadrunners went 1-1 on the day, first posting a loss to CVC rival #11 Southern Virginia, 0-3 before defeating Alvernia, 3-1. With the win and the loss the Roadrunners currently stand at 3-5 overall and 1-1 in the CVC conference.
In their first match-up of the day against Southern Virginia, it was the Knights who would come out on top, 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-15) as they hit a combined .481 as a team. The team posted 47 kills on 77 attempts with just ten hitting errors in the three-set match. Nahuel Recabarren led the team with 16 kills and Paul Clark added 13 as they hit .636 and .611 respectively. Kaipo Tagaloa set around as he dished out 38 assists and on defense it would be Mark Stapley and Daniel Aina who each led the way with ten digs. The team combined for 11 blocks, two solo.
For Ramapo,
Eric Van Thuyne collected a team leading eight kills as the Roadrunners combined for 27 kills on 79 attempts with 17 errors. The team hit .127 with
Josh Titus taking on the setting duties and dishing out 22 total assists. It would be
Tyler Plitt who led the team's defense with six digs. Terrance Cando also picked up five in the loss. Ramapo collected just one block, a solo block coming from
Conor Charlow.
Against Alvernia, Ramapo earned the win as they defeated the Golden Wolves, 3-1 (25-18, 19-25, 25-19, 27-25) behind a combined offensive effort hitting, .350. The Roadrunners collected 60 kills on 120 attempts with just 18 errors. Van Thuyne led the team offensively with 20 kills hitting .385 while
Stephen Codispodo contributed 12 kills on 17 attempts with just two errors hitting .529 in the win.
Andrew Finnegan collected nine kills and Charlow added eight. It would be Tutus on setting duties once again as he dished out 54 assists. Plitt picked up 19 huge digs and Van Thuyne added seven.
For Alvernia, Spencer Matthews led the team with 14 kills and Logan McGinley collected ten as the team hit a combined 45-119 with 20 errors hitting .210 in the loss. Dalton Hartman dished out 38 assists and Jon Demeter picked up a team leading 11 digs on defense. McGinley added ten digs in the loss. Both teams recorded four total blocks on the day.

thwhen they travel to Marymount for a 7pm match-up on the road.
