RAMAPO EARNS FIRST NJAC WIN OF THE SEASON

Jersey City, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's volleyball team defeated New Jersey City University in a NJAC conference match-up on the road 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 28-26). This was the Roadrunners first NJAC conference game (1-0) of the season while they even their overall record to 7-7. The Gothic Knights now stand at 4-6 overall and 0-2 in the NJAC.
 
Andrew Finnegan led the Roadrunners with six kills while he added seven digs, one block and two aces. Connor Charlow hit .556 in the match with five kills on nine attempts and no errors. He also posted a team high three aces and five solo blocks while adding two assisted blocks. Tanner Depuyt and Eric Van Thuyne posted four kills each while Van Thuyne recorded five digs and two blocks. On defense Tyler Plitt continued to lead the team with eight total digs while adding three assists. Josh Titus dished out a team high 18 assists while he posted one kill, four digs and one solo block.
 
The Gothic Knights were led by Jonathan Andrews with seven kills and seven digs while Joseph Stawicki and Julian Moreira each collected four kills in the match. Moreira also posted a team high five blocks including two solo blocks. JJ Berdecia led the team on defense with nine digs while Aaron Mantilla led the way with nine assists.

The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow night when they take on Kean University in a CVC/NJAC conference matchup at 7pm. The Cougars (12-3 overall, 3-0 CVC, 1-0 NJAC) enter the match as the #5 ranked team in the AVCA Top 15 Poll.
