Ashland, VA: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team split a pair of matches on the road today at Randolph-Macon College. The Roadrunners (4-7 overall, 2-2 CVC) defeated the hosts Yellow Jackets 3-0 in CVC action before they fell to Bluefield College 3-1 in non-conference play.
 
In the first match of the day against the Yellow Jackets, Ramapo won 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 27-25) to even their CVC conference record 2-2 overall while they handed Randolph-Macon (6-5 overall, 3-1 CVC) their first conference loss. 
Eric Van Thuyne led the team with 10 kills while 
Conor Charlow added nine kills of his own. Charlow led the team with seven aces while he tallied one block and one dig. 
Josh Titus posted a team high 30 assists while he contributed with eight digs, two kills and two blocks. 
Brenden Russell posted nine kills as he hit .353 in the match while adding one solo block. On defense 
Tyler Plitt posted a team high 10 digs while he added three assists. The team hit .174 in the match with 42 total kills.
 
The Yellow Jackets were led by Scotty Carter as he hit .409 in the match with 11 kills on 22 attempts and just two errors. Corban Jungers posted a team high ten digs, five kills and four digs. Lee Olenyik tallied nine kills, five digs and one block while on defense Connor Logan led the team with 12 digs.
 
Against Bluefield College (6-8 overall), Ramapo was led once again by Van Thuyne with 15 kills on 30 attempts to hit .333 in the match. He also recorded two aces, five digs and one block. Charlow posted nine kills, two aces and two blocks while 
Andrew Finnegan and 
Stephen Codispodo each contributed with five kills. Titus led the team with 37 assists while he tallied six digs and one block. The Roadrunners tallied 46 kills in the match along with eight aces and six total blocks.
 
The Rams, who won in four sets, 3-1 (14-25, 25-22, 25-20, 26-24), while they hit .318 in the match. The team tallied 43 total kills, six aces and 12 blocks. The Rams were led by Alberto Chiaparini who put down 18 kills to hit .500 in the match while he added four digs and two blocks. Chris Dixon and Carleek Owens each tallied eight kills while Dixon led the team with four blocks.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, February 20th when they travel to St. Joseph's College Long Island for a non-conference match at 7pm.
