Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

LATKA, ROMANO LEAD RAMAPO OVER FARMINGDALE ST. 72-51

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's basketball team posted a 72-51 victory over the Rams of Farmingdale State in non-conference action.  The Roadrunners improve to 3-1 overall while the Rams stand at 1-3. 

Connor Romano led the Roadrunners netting 18 points and dishing out five assists.  Matt Latka sunk 12 points and brought down 11 rebounds.  Ramapo was 30-77 (39%) from the field and forced 25 turnovers.  The Rams were led by Anthony Miller, Jr.. who collected 18 points and Hunter Schenkel with 16.  Farmingdale was 21-54 (39%) from the field. 
 
The Rams jumped to an early 11-3 lead in the first five minutes of play, capped off by a jump shot from Miller, Jr.  The Roadrunners went on a 12-2 run in just over five minutes of play behind six points from Jason Battle allowing the Roadrunners to take the lead 20-17.  Ramapo remained on top for the rest of the first half heading to the locker room with the seven-point lead, 33-26.  Battle led the Roadrunners in the first half sinking nine points shooting 4-7.  Romano netted six points and Latka netted six and pulled down seven rebounds.  Ramapo forced 17 turnovers in the first half.  Farmingdale was led by Miller Jr. with 12 points and Schenkel who sank eight.  The team shot 11-22 in the half.  Troy Feeney pulled down six rebounds. 
 
Farmingdale State came out in the second half to close the gap to five points off of a three-point shot from Miller Jr., 32-37.  The two teams traded baskets over the next 7:46 of play before Ramapo went on a 10-0 run to extend the lead to 21, 63-42.  To end the game the Roadrunners tacked on an additional 11 points while the Rams added nine, allowing Ramapo to take the 72-51 victory.  Romano netted 12 points in the half while Latka netted six points and collected four rebounds.  Jermaine Fraser sunk eight points in the half while Miller Jr. had six for Farmingdale. 
 
The Roadrunners will return to action in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up as they face Rutgers-Newark at 7:30pm on Tuesday, November 26th.
