RAMAPO ADVANCES IN ECAC TOURNAMENT WITH 3-0 VICTORY

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's volleyball team advanced to the second round of the 2019 ECAC Tournament with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-19) opening round match over Cedar Crest College. The Roadrunners improve to 14-7 overall while the Falcons wrap up the 2019 season with a 15-11 overall record.

 The Roadrunners, who are seeded #2 in Pod three, advance to take on #1 seeded McDaniel College who earned a bye into the second round. The two teams will meet at Marywood University on Saturday, November 16th at 5pm. The winner of Pod three, Ramapo/McDaniel advances to play the winner of Pod two, #1 Neumann University vs. #3 Baruch College. The semifinal match will take place on Sunday afternoon at Marywood at 2pm. 
 
Morgan Ridgway and Hannah Frascella led the Roadrunners on offense with 13 and ten kills respectively. Stephanie Ross put down eight kills while adding three aces and 13 digs. Caleigh Golabek led the Roadrunners coming up big with five solo blocks while she collected three kills and six digs. Kate Shirkey led the team with 22 assists while she added ten digs and one ace. Sara Correa collected 17 assists while she posted three digs and one ace. On defense, Karina Almeda led the team with 26 digs while she tallied a perfect passing percentage. The team put down 45 total kills in the match while they hit .228 overall.
 
For the Falcons, Nicole Hill hit .407 in the match with 13 kills on 27 attempts and just two errors while Kelsee Schouppe put down 11 kills on 18 attempts with just four errors to hit .389. Tiffany Hoppes led the team on defense with 30 digs while Madison Flatt collected 18 of her own. Flatt and Talia Watson split the setting duties as Flatt collected 16 assists while Watson recorded 14. The team tallied 38 kills in the match as they hit .149 overall with 141 attempts and 17 errors.
