GOODWIN POSTS HAT TRICK IN 6-1 WIN OVER BENGALS

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's soccer team wrapped up the 2019 season with a 6-1 non-conference win over the University of Maine at Fort Kent. The Roadrunners move to 5-10-2 overall while the Bengals drop to 10-5 on the year.
 
Carla Goodwin tallied a hat trick in the first half to put the Roadrunners up 3-0. She scored her first goal off a pass from Kaitlyn Kelly (10:48) to take a 1-0 lead. Gianna Enea would send a long ball over the defense where Goodwin collected and fired into the back of the net for the 2-0 lead (17:12) before Fort Kent got on the board. Yuliana Sanchez tallied her team leading 16th goal of the year to cut the Ramapo lead 2-1 in the 30th minute (29:44). Goodwin posted her eighth goal of the year off a pass from Cammi Plage in the 35th minute (35:31) to push the score to 3-1.
 
In the second half, the Roadrunners added three more goals to extend the lead 6-1. Ciara Brophy scored her first goal of the year off a dish from Goodwin (58:45) while Enea also tallied her first goal of the season off a pass from Amanda Gouldsbury (62:10). Brophy collected her second goal of the game, unassisted in the 85th minute to cap off the scoring for the Roadrunners 6-1.
 
Alexandra Kerwin put up eight saves for the Roadrunners in 84 minutes of action while Emma Conlan did not need to make a save in the final six minutes of play.
 
Olexia Mitchell posted eight saves for the Bengals in 85 minutes of play while Lorelei Breitfeld started the game for Fort Kent and collected two saves in the first five minutes of action.
 
Ramapo held a 23-12 advantage in shots in the game including 16-9 on goal while the Roadrunners posted seven corner kicks to Fort Maine's four.
