MSU FIELD HOCKEY TOPS RAMAPO 2-0

Montclair, NJ:  The Montclair State University field hockey team earned a 2-0 win in the final NJAC conference game of the season. The Red Hawks improve to 10-7 overall, 2-4 in the conference while the Roadrunners wrap up the 2019 season with a 6-12 overall record and 1-5 in the NJAC.

The Red Hawks recorded one goal each in the first and second quarters. Linsey Champa tallied her fourth goal of the year off to get MSU on the board in the eighth minute of action (7:24). In the second quarter, Kelly Watson recorded her eighth goal of the year for an insurance goal and a 2-0 lead. Elizabeth Cimilluca assisted on both goals for the Red Hawks.
 
Ramapo looked to get on the board late in the game during the fourth quarter when a shot from Victoria Docheerty was saved on the goal line by the MSU defense. Ramapo would collect their own defensive save of the game by Emily Riccardi in the 60th minute. MSU held a 12-6 lead in shots in the game including a margin of 8-3 on goal. The Red Hawks also held a slight lead in penalty corners 10-8. Samantha Stolker posted five saves in the cage for Ramapo while Nicole Andriani tallied two saves for MSU.
