Box Score Camden, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team defeated the Scarlet Raptors of Rutgers Camden today in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up on the road. The Roadrunners jump ahead to 8-1-5 overall and 3-1-2 in the NJAC. The Scarlet Raptors fall to 11-5-1 overall and 4-2-1 in conference play.
Ramapo would get on the scoreboard first in the game as
Nick Petrozziello took a pass from
Raul Macedo in the 27th minute to go ahead, 1-0.
Rutgers Camden would tie the game 12 minutes later to go into halftime tied at one. Cristian Ognibene would net the goal for Camden off an assist from Chris Taraska. Rutgers Camden held a slight advantage in shots at 4-3.
In the second, with 7:47 left in the game,
Joseph Fala took a long ball from
Mark Buckel and would head it past the netminder, Kieran Burns, to go ahead, 2-1. Just over three minutes later, Fala would struck again, this time off a pass from Petrozziello.
The score would hold until the final buzzer with the Roadrunners earning the 3-1 conference win.
Joshua Shaffer gets the win to improve to 5-0-3 on the year.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, October 23
rd when they travel to Kean University for a 3pm match-up.
