Wilkes-Barre, PA: The King's College women's soccer team defeated Ramapo College tonight 3-2. The Monarchs now stand at 1-1 overall while the Roadrunners are 0-3 on the season.

Liliann Vizcaino put the Roadrunners on the board in the 20th minute of the game (19:42) with an unassisted goal, her first of the year, for a 1-0 lead. The Monarchs came back to tie the game when Sophia Sacknievich collected her second goal of the season 1-1 in the 28th minute (27:56). The teams went into halftime all tied at one while King's held a 9-4 advantage in shots in the first half.

In the second half, Emily Harrington (52:21) and Danielle Putnam (78:49) each hit the back of the net for King's to put them in the lead 3-1. The Roadrunners came back with a late goal in the 82nd minute (81:16) when Skylar Rybackii put a header into the back of the net off a corner kick from Vizcaino to come within one 3-2. The Monarchs did not let allow the Roadrunners to score the remainder of the game to pull out the 3-2 non-conference victory. Ramapo out shot King's in the second half 7-4.

Elizabeth Harvell collected two saves for Ramapo in the game while Tara Bender recorded four saves for the Monarchs.

The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, September 8th when they host the College of Mount Saint Vincent at the Athletic Center grass field at 1pm.
