Osceola, FL: The Ramapo College softball team swept their second day at the SunKissed Games at the Osceola County Softball Complex with a walk-off win over SUNY Cortland and a 14-2 win over Utica College.
Game one:
The game remained scoreless through three innings before the Red Dragons plated two runs in the top of the fourth inning. Cortland scored the pair of runs with two outs in the inning when T Scharff scored on pass ball and Schoonmaker singled home A May.
Jackie Howarth put Ramapo on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning when she cracked her second home run in as many days. Howarth took the fourth pitch she saw over the left field fence cutting the Red Dragon lead to one and setting up a dramatic bottom of the seventh.
With runners on the corners and two outs,
Harper Patsko laced a single into right field plating
Sisi Machinski with the game-tying run before the relay throw in from the outfield was misplayed allowing Howarth to score from second base with the game winning run for Ramapo 3-2.

Erin Fitzsimmons (1-0) earned the win on the mound, she struck out three, walked five and scattered four hits in the complete game win. She surrendered two runs (one earned). Patsko finished the game 3-4 with one RBI to lead the team while Howarth finished 1-4 with two runs scored and one RBI.
Game 2:
Ramapo pounded out 13 hits and scored 14 runs in the second game of the day in a 14-2 win over Utica. The Roadrunners opened the scoring in the second inning when
Carly Vadinsky lifted a sac fly to center field plating
Shannon Cox who led off with a hard hit single to center field. Howarth then drove home
Nicole Hernandez with a single to second base before Machinski came around to score following an infield error for a 3-0 lead.
Utica added one run in the third before Ramapo tacked on four runs on five hits in the fifth inning.
Krista Verrino laced a double to left field allowing Howarth to score from first base before the bases were loaded for Cox who then lifted a sac fly allowing Verrino to score. Patsko and
Ally Spellman then came home on an
Olivia Mahon double for a 7-0 lead. Utica once again added one run in the sixth 7-2 before Ramapo broke the game open in the top of the seventh with seven runs on five hits and one Utica error. The inning was highlighted by a triple from Howarth that plated two runs before she was able to trot home when the relay throw from the outfield was misplayed for the 14-2 lead.

Paige Merle came into relief for starting pitcher
Katrina Buczkowski (1-0) in the top of the seventh and did not let up a run. Buczkowski struck out five, walked two and scattered six hits over six innings of work. Howarth led the team at the plate 3-5 with two runs scored and three RBI while Verrino, Cox and Mahon each collected to hits in the game.
The Roadrunners return to action at the SunKissed Games on Tuesday, March 13th when they take on #15 Washington University (MO) at 11:15am and NYU at 1:15pm.
