Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's swim team defeated non-conference rival Drew University 153.5-98.5 today at the Adele and Reuben Thomas swimming pool. The Roadrunners improve to 5-4 overall in their final home dual meet of the season. The Rangers drop to 3-6 overall.
The 200-yard medley relay team made up of
Andrew Ramos,
Sam Cossaboon,
Aviad Mana and
Jordan Leonardo posted a first place finish with a time of 1:40.14.
Chaz Cella out-touched the Rangers at the wall by .40 tenths of a second to win the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:17.40.
Tomer Bachar won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:48.77 while
Jose Alferez won the 100-yard backstroke in 54.69. Cossaboon and
Sean Flannery went 1-2 in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:00.22 and 1:02.37 respectively. Ramos beat everyone to the wall in the 50-yard freestyle when he clocked in at 22.76 while Leonardo placed third in 22.96. Ramos also won the 100-yard freestyle in 49.84 while
Aspen-Jade Tucker was second in 50.29. Alferez posted a time of 2:01.51 in the 200-yard backstroke for a first place finish while Cossaboon was first in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:15.16. Cella once again placed first in the 500-yard freestyle when he clocked in at 4:57.22 and Nick Markwell posted a time of 1:38.68 in the 200-yard IM. The men's 200-yard freestyle posted a time of 1:30.51, the team was made up of Leonardo,
Matt Stenger,
Benjamin Kern and Ramos.
The Roadrunners return to action when they travel to the Metropolitan Conference Championships at Rutgers University on February 16-18
th.
