Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's swim team defeated the New Paltz Hawks today in non-conference action 156-101. The Roadrunners stand at 2-3 overall while the Hawks are 1-2 on the year.
The 200-yard medley relay team won to earn 11 points for the Roadrunners with a time of 1:39.33. The team was made up of
Josh Templeton,
Sam Cossaboon,
Julian Giglio and
Alex Barszcz. Templeton continued to shine in his individual events this season with a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:50.08. He also finished in first place in the 100-yard freestyle when he clocked in at 49.28 just .59 ahead of the Hawks. Templeton placed first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:53.37.
Nicholas Markwell won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.14 while the Roadrunners grabbed the top three spots in the 100-yard breaststroke. Cossaboon placed 1st (1:01:78),
Sean Flannery finished in 2nd (1:02.58) and
Noah Callahan placed 3rd in 1:03.91. Markwell also won the 200-yard backstroke (2:06.45) while Smith and
Tyler Czubachowski finished in 2nd (2:09.72) and 3rd (2:12.32) place respectively.
Aviad Mana and
Jesse Smith went 1-2 in the 200-yard butterfly with times of 2:01.05 and 2:01.97 respectively. Barszcz won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.53 while
Matt Liedtka placed second in 23.02. Cossaboon and Callahan went 1-2 in the 200-yard breaststroke with times of 2:16.49 and 2:19.22 respectively. In the 100-yard butterfly, the Roadrunners grabbed the first three finishes. Giglio placed 1st (54.09), Mana placed 2nd (54.88) and Barszcz placed 3rd (55.08).
