Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball team improved to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the NJAC with an 80-67 win tonight at the Bradley Center. The Cougars now stand at 1-7 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
Kashaun Barnes led Ramapo with 22 points including four three-pointers while
Rob Lewis grabbed a team high ten rebounds and added eight points.
Bryant Quill provided quality minutes off the bench with 15 points as he finished perfect from the floor on the night. Quill was 5-5 from the field, 3-3 from the three-point line and 2-2 from the free throw line.

Rob McWilliams and
Andre Morgan all contributed with seven points. The Roadrunners out rebounded Kean 41-29 while they recorded 30 points off of Cougar turnovers. The Roadrunners shot 40% (25-62) from the field, 52% (9-17) from the three-point line and 75% (21-28) from the free throw line.
Battle opened the game with a three-pointer off an assist from Barnes to take a quick 3-0 lead. They pushed their lead to 11 when Morgan hit a basket as Battle assisted for a 19-8 score with 12:17 left in the first half. The Cougars would go on a mini 6-0 run to close the gap to five 19-14 before Barnes connected on a three-pointer and a jumper for another ten-point lead 24-14. Kean once again came within four 25-21 with less than nine minutes left to play before Ramapo went on a 12-0 run started by a
Connor Romano layup and capped off with a pair of free throws from Quill. Quill recorded eight points in the run. A pair of three-pointers from Kean and a jumper from the Roadrunners saw them up 39-27 with 4:27 left in the half before a dunk from Quill extended the lead back to 41-27. In the last two minutes of the half each team scored four points as the Roadrunners went into the locker room up 45-33.
The Cougars would shrink the Ramapo lead under ten points just twice in the second half. A layup early in the half shrunk the Roadrunner lead to nine 47-38 before a mini 6-0 run saw Ramapo with 15-point lead 53-38. Micah Kerr started an 8-1 run with a layup before Justin Watson sank back-to-back three pointers cutting the Ramapo lead to eight. An 11-0 run allowed the Roadrunners to take their largest lead in the game when
Naseer Walker scored on a layup to cap off the run 65-46. The Roadrunner never trailed in the game coming away with their seventh win of the season 80-67.
Kerr led the Cougars with 13 points while Nate Lyles and Jared Latane each posted 12 and ten points respectively. Jailen Jamison contributed with eight points, five assists, two steals and one block. Kean shot 49% (25-51) from the field, 36% (8-22) from the three-point line and 60% (9-15) from the three-point line.
The Roadrunners return to action when they travel to Rowan University on Saturday, December 8th for a NJAC conference game at 1pm.
