Patchogue, NY: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team defeated the College of Staten Island in three sets tonight at the St. Joseph's College – L.I. Invitational, 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-15). The Roadrunners now stand at 5-15 overall while the Dolphins drop to 9-6 on the year.
Ramapo was led by
Morgan Ridgway who put down a team high nine kills while she added four digs and one block.
Felicia Jimenez added eight kills, six digs and two blocks while
Hannah Frascella tallied seven kills, one assist, one ace and ten digs.
Aniella Bednarz led the way with four total blocks including one solo block while she added six kills, one ace and three digs.
Kate Shirkey dished out a team high 30 assists as she tallied one ace and eight digs. On defense
Kristina Semple led the way with 16 digs and
Anna Granquist added 13 digs of her own. Granquist led the team with four aces while
Sara Correa recorded three. Ramapo tallied 38 total kills in the match.
Francesca Castellano led the way for CSI with seven kills while she added a team high 14 digs. Arianna Spears posted a team high 12 assists while adding two aces and nine digs. Celina Mendez posted 13 digs on defense while she added one kills and one assist. The team recorded 13 total kills in the match.
Ramapo returns to action tomorrow against Salve Regina at 12:00pm while they take on the host Golden Eagles at 4pm at the St. Joseph's – L.I. Invitational.
