Glenside, PA: The Arcadia University men's swim team battled with Ramapo College today in non-conference action as the Knights edged Ramapo 135-127. The Knights improve to 2-0 overall while the Roadrunners stand at 0-1 to start the 2018 season.
The meet came down to the final event, the 400-yard freestyle relay, where Arcadia came out on top in 3:11.01. The Roadrunners clocked in at 3:27.11 for second place, they were made up of
Alex Barszcz,
Jesse Smith,
Aviad Mana and
Benjamin Kern.
Ramapo began the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:41.84. The "A" relay team was made up of Mana,
Sam Cossaboon,
Julian Giglio and
Josh Templeton. Ramapo's "B" team placed second in the same event in 1:42.78 and were made up of
Nicholas Markwell,
Noah Callahan, Barszcz and
Patrick Herrera.
In the 200-yard freestyle, Templeton posted a winning time of 1:48.41 while Kern placed third in 1:56.27.
Tyler Czubachowski and Markwell went 2-3 in the 100-yard backstroke in 59.44 and 59.57 respectively. Mana won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:05.40 while Barszcz (22.98) and Kern (23.57) went 2-3 in the 50-yard freestyle. Templeton also won the 100-yard freestyle when he touched the wall in 48.82 while Smith won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:08.83. Templeton posted a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle clocking in at 5:11.80 while
Antonino Tramontana placed fourth in the same event in 5:30.10. Mana added another first-place finish to his day when he posted a time of 54.92 in the 100-yard butterfly while Giglio and Barszcz finished in third (55.67) and fourth (56.28) respectively.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, November 3rd when they host the College of New Jersey in a NJAC meet at 2pm.
