Thomas Bonacum scored a team high 18 points as the Ramapo College men's basketball team defeated conference rival William Paterson University on the road 73-61. The Roadrunners earned their third straight win over a conference opponent and improved to 13-4 overall and 9-1 in the NJAC. The Pioneers fall to 9-8 overall and 4-6 in the conference.
 
The two teams battled the first seven minutes of action before the Roadrunners went on an 11-0 run to take a nine point lead 19-10. 
Rob Lewis started the run with a jumper to tie the game 10-10 before 
Rob McWilliams tallied a layup off a dish from 
Patrick Peterson to cap off the run with 7:52 on the clock. Ramapo made another 6-0 run, extending their lead to 27-16 as 
Christopher Moseley collected four of the six points as the Roadrunners went into the locker room up 11.
 
Moseley scored the first two points for Ramapo to start the second half, extending the run to eight points and a 29-16 lead. 
James Long nailed a three-pointer before Dapo Badmos hit one for the Pioneers as Ramapo led 32-21 with less than 18 minutes left in the game.  A basket from Moseley and a three-pointer from 
Thomas Bonacum gave Ramapo their biggest lead of the game, a 16-point lead, 37-21. WPU went on a mini 5-0 run of their own with a three-pointer from Sean Smith to cut the lead to 37-27 before Ramapo's Long started a seven point run with a three-pointer before Lewis and 
Josh Ford connected on back-to-back jumpers 44-26 with under 14 minutes on the clock. WPU chipped away and cut the lead to ten with a three-pointer from Domenic Mignone with 8:03 left on the clock 60-50 before they hit back-to-back three-pointers to come within five 61-56 with 6:24 on the clock. Ramapo then went on an 11-0 run as scored six of the 11 points for a 72-56 lead with 1:09 left in the game. George Sapp tacked on a three-pointer for WPU with less than one minute to play while Ford connected on one of two of his free throws for a 73-59 lead with 34 seconds left. Brandon Williams scored the final basket for either team as Ramapo defeated the Pioneers 73-61.
 
Bonacum led the team in scoring with 18 points as he shot 6-12 from the floor, 3-4 from the three-point line and 3-4 from the free throw line. He also collected five rebounds, five assists and two blocks. Moseley finished with 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and two blocks while 
James Long finished 3-3 from the three-point line with nine points. 
Rob Lewis also tallied nine points in the game while he grabbed five rebounds. The team shot 61% (29-47) from the field, 63% (7-11) from the three-point line and 53% (8-15) from the free throw line.
 
Three players scored in double figures for the Pioneers. Sean Smith led the way with 15 points while Sapp and Peter Martinez contributed with 13 and 12 points respectively. Henry Voorhees led the team with ten rebounds while Sapp dished out a team high seven assists. The team shot 35% from the field (23-65) and 40% (15-37) from the three-point line.
 
Ramapo, who earned votes in the latest D3hoops.com Poll, will return to action on Saturday, January 20th when they host rival Stockton University at 1pm.
