Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team posted two wins today in their final regular season home games of the season. The Roadrunners improve to 19-6 overall.
Ramapo will host the semifinal of the NJAC Tournament on Thursday, November 2
nd at 7pm in the Bradley Center. The Roadrunners will take on the winner of #3 Kean University and #6 Rutgers-Camden University.
In their first match of the day the Roadrunners defeated Keystone College (12-16 overall) 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-13).
Larysa Iwaskiw led the team with 17 kills while
Sarah Mulligan posted a match high 30 digs.
Kate Shirkey posted 20 assists to lead the team while
Sara Correa added ten of her own. Iwaskiw also posted 16 digs and one block while
Lena Husslein posted three blocks and five kills. The team hit .129 overall in the match with 34 kills on 132 attempts and 17 errors.
The Giants were led by Amanda Hardy who posted six kills while Kristen Larkin and Nicole Frascati added five each. Malley Bowen collected a team high 19 assists while Victoria Homfeld posted 24 digs in the match. The team hit -.014 with 24 kills on 143 attempts and 26 errors.
In Ramapo's final match of the day the Roadrunners defeated the College of Mount Saint Vincent 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-20), running their win streak to six straight matches. Iwaskiw posted 18 kills while
Samantha Main posted six kills and hit .500 in the match. Main also led the team with two solo blocks.
Amanda Rose collected four kills hitting .400 while Mulligan posted a team high 26 digs. Shirkey and Correa dished out 18 and 15 assists respectively. The team hit .242 in the match with 43 kills on 124 attempts and just 13 errors.
The Dolphins were led by Tara Maloney who posted 16 kills while she tallied 14 digs. Nicole Henderson posted a team high 17 digs while Patsy Sewell collected 30 assists in the match. The team hit .109 with 33 kills on 128 attempts and 19 errors.
In the second match of the day, Keystone earned a 3-1 (25-13, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21) over the College of Mount Saint Vincent. The Giants improved to 13-16 overall while the Dolphins now stand at 16-12 overall. Keystone was led by Nathalie Ortiz and Larkin who each recorded ten kills while Hardy posted seven of her own. Bowen dished out a team high 35 assists while she also recorded two aces, four kills and one block. Homfeld led both teams with 31 digs while Nicki Yeager added ten of her own. The team hit .172 in the match with 44 kills on 145 attempts and 19 errors.
CMSV was led by Tara Maloney and Maria Leineweber who tallied 19 and 15 kills respectively. Nicole Henderson tallied 31 assists in the match while Leineweber posted 15 digs. The team hit .088 in the match with 42 kills on 148 attempts and 29 errors.
