Box Score Wayne, NJ: The Pioneers of William Paterson University recorded their first win in conference play (1-2) this evening as they defeated the Roadrunner men's soccer team, 2-0, handing Ramapo their first loss of the 2016 season (7-1-1, 1-1-1 NJAC).
The first half of play went scoreless and in the second half at 68:38, Keysean Brant-Sharp, off an assist from Juan Londono, put the Pioneers (5-4-1) ahead 1-0. With under five minutes to play in the game, JP Gonzales gave William Paterson insurance with a goal of his own to go ahead two goals to none. Ramapo was unable to hit the back of the net in the remaining minutes falling short on the road, and for the first time in 2016, 0-2.
The Roadrunners held an advantage in shots, 16-9, and shots on goal, 6-4, while
Ryan Sprague collected two saves in the net. Kyle Quigley recorded six saves for the Pioneers and earns the shut out win.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, October 1st when they host Rutgers Camden at 1pm in Mahwah.
