BASEBALL HEADED TO NCAA NEW YORK REGIONAL

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College baseball team has been tabbed the #2 seed in the 2016 NCAA New York Regional hosted by SUNY Cortland. The regional will take place at Falcon Park in Auburn, NY. The Roadrunners will take on #5 Union College on May 18th. Times for all games are yet to be announced.

The Roadrunners won the NJAC Tournament for the first time under head coach Rich Martin and for the second time in program history on May 8th with an 8-3 win over Montclair State University. This will be Ramapo's 16th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and fifth appearance in the last six seasons.
The six-team New York Regional features three teams that made it to the 2015 NCAA Division III World Series. Host SUNY Cortland won their first NCAA title last season while Ramapo and Forstburg also made it to Appleton, Wisconsin.

SUNY Cortland, Ramapo, Susquehanna, Union and Castleton all won their conference tournaments to earn the league automatic qualifying bid. Frostburg State was awarded one of the 12 at-large bids.

The Roadrunners played Castleton State during the 2015 NCAA New England Regional in the opening round game and defeated the Spartans in a walk-off 4-3 win in the bottom of the 11th. At the World Series, Ramapo went up against Frostburg State twice, both times falling to the Bobcats. In their opening round game Ramapo fell 3-1. Frostburg then sent the Roadrunners home two days later in the double elimination tournament with a 5-2 win.

Game 4: May 19, 11 a.m. - Loser 1 vs. Loser 2 
Game 5: May 19, 2:30 p.m. - Winner 1 vs. Loser 3 
Game 6: May 19, 6 p.m. - Winner 2 vs. Winner 3 

Game 7: May 20, 11 a.m. - Winner 5 vs. Winner 6 
Game 8: May 20, 2:30 p.m. - Winner 4 vs. Loser 6 
Game 9: May 20, 6 p.m. - Winner 8 vs. Loser 7 

Game 10: May 21, TBA - Winner 7 vs. Winner 9 
Game 11: May 21, TBA - Winner 10 vs. Loser 10 if necessary



First-round matchups for the championship site will be as follows:
Pool A: South vs. New York and West vs. Midwest
Pool B: Mid-Atlantic vs. New England and Central vs. Mideast
