FDU-FLORHAM PROVES TO BE TOO MUCH FOR RAMAPO

Mahwah, NJ:  The Lady Roadrunner women's lacrosse team dropped a tough 3-13 decision today to the Devils of FDU-Florham at home in a non-conference pairing.  With the loss the Roadrunners fall to 6-5 overall while the Devils jump ahead to 4-6 with the ten-goal victory.

Brienna Reasoner and Joelle Manganella led the Devils to the win today as they each collected three goals.  Cassidy Vastano and Laura Cannillo each recorded two while Frances Maggio, Brittni Calleo, and Hannah Aull got in on the action with one goal each.  Samantha Holleritter led in draw controls with three while she picked up a team leading three ground balls.  Megan Nemeth played the first half in goal and collected five saves with no goals against while Erin Gill and Katherine Posada split the duties in the second half combining for one save.

Just under five minutes into the game, Reasoner got the scoring started before Manganella ripped a shot past Ramapo's Jessica Meyers to put the Devils up 2-0 with 19:58 left to play in the half.  Calleo would score at 16:46 before Reasoner collected back-to-back goals to put the Devils on top 5-0.  FDU wrapped up the half with five more goals to go ahead 10-0 at the buzzer as they out shot Ramapo, 18-5 in the half.  Meyers made eight saves in the half for Ramapo.

In the final half of play, Ramapo's Emma Bolton broke the shut out with 15:06 remaining in the game but Vastano answered back as she capitalized on a free position shot just 30 seconds later to again go up by ten, 11-1.  Alyssa Tachon would take a pass from Lindsay Hughes with 5:58 on the clock to close the gap 2-11 but it wasn't enough as the Devils finished the game out scoring Ramapo, 2-1 for the 13-3 victory.

The Devils held an 18-5 advantage in shots in the second half and Meyers made an additional five saves for Ramapo.

Hughes led in draw controls with four on the day and Bolton, Hughes, and Tachon each scored a goal for Ramapo.
