Camden, NJ: The Rutgers Camden University women's lacrosse team defeated Ramapo College 16-11 today in NJAC action. The Scarlet Raptors improve to 7-6 overall, 1-3 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 6-9 overall, 0-5 in the conference.

The Scarlet Raptors put up ten goals in the first half to Ramapo's four. Nicole Martin got Rutgers Camden on the board 30 seconds into the game before
Emma Bolton scored for the Roadrunners off an assist from
Brianna Himpele to tie it up 1-1. The Scarlet Raptors put in six unanswered goals to take a 7-1 lead.
Beth McGraw and
Molly Warner put in back-to-back goals for Ramapo to come within four 3-7. In the final 12 minutes of the first half, the Scarlet Raptors added three goals to their lead while Ramapo tallied one goal from
Alyssa Tachon. Rutgers Camden took a 10-4 lead into half time.

Lindsay Hughes started the scoring for the Roadrunners in the second half before
Katie Duca took a pass from Hughes to come within four 6-10 with 27:54 left to play in the game. The Scarlet Raptors added two more goals before
Victoria Cunningham and Hughes recorded goals to come within four 8-12. Cunningham, Tachon and Bolton added goals down the stretch for the Roadrunners while Rutgers-Camden came away with a 16-11 conference win.

Jessica Meyers and
Tara Ward split time in the net for Ramapo. Meyers recorded three saves while Ward tallied six of her own.
