Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

ROADRUNNERS FINISH 2-1 ON THE DAY

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's volleyball team played host to #7 Dominican (IL), Sage College and Yeshiva University today at the Bradley Center where they came out with two wins and one loss to stand at 11-10 overall and 9-1 in Skyline conference action.

In their first match-up of the day it was a thrilling five set match-up with the #7 ranked Stars of Domincan (IL).  The Roadrunners would come all the way back from two sets down to tie up the match, 2-2, but in the fifth it was the Stars who rallied for the win, 15-11.  Behind 17 kills from Luke Spicer, the Stars took the match (25-17, 25-21, 21-25, 20-25, 15-11).  The Stars hit a combined .273 with 58 kills on 143 attempts and 19 errors.  Jeremy Royko recorded 16 kills and Mason Solbrig added 12 as AlexCoyne dished out 28 assists.  Brooks Nevrly led the team's defense with 11 digs and Coyne picked up ten of his own.  Dominican posted 13 team blocks to Ramapo's nine.

For Ramapo, Justin Feigeles recorded 22 kills and Paul Close collected 12 as Connor Brandow chipped in 11 kills in the loss.  Ramapo went 58-142 with 29 errors hitting .204.  Mikhael Erushalimski collected 51 assists and Spencer Shickora led the team's defense with 12 digs.  Feigeles collected ten disg of his own on the day.

In their next two matches Ramapo came away with wins in Skyline conference action. Against Sage the Roadrunners earned a 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-19) win behind 11 kills a piece from Feigeles and Paul Close. The team hit .337 in the match with 40 kills on 86 attempts and 11 errors. Erushalimski dished out 32 assists while Shickora posted seven digs on defense. Jordan Elam led the team with three total blocks.
 
For the Gators, Ryan Guyton led the team with 12 kills while Casey Fitzpatrick posted 25 assists. The team hit .103 in the match with 28 kills on 78 attempts and 20 errors.
 
In Ramapo's final match of the day against Yeshiva, the Roadrunners posted a 3-0 (25-10, 25-14, 25-5) conference win. Patrick Wixted posted 14 kills, three assists, two aces and eight digs while Shickora added 11 kills to hit .667 in the match. Close tallied ten kills and a team high 11 digs. The team hit .411 in the match with 44 kills on 90 attempts and only seven errors. Feigeles dished out a team high 32 assists while he added nine digs.
 
Sage defeated Yeshiva, 3-0 (25-8, 25-12, 25-16). The Gators hit .286 in the match as they were led by Bailey Cecchi with 10 kills on 14 attempts and only four errors to hit .429 in the match. Anthony Gerace posted 18 assists while Cecchi led the team with nine digs.
 
For the Maccabees, Mathew Rosenberg led the team with six kills while Jonathan Goldstein dished out a team high ten assists.

The Roadrunners return to action on March 12th when they face off with #6 Nazareth at the UC Santa Cruz Tournament in Santa Cruz, CA.  The match time is set for 6pm (EST).
