Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team dropped a tough 1-3 (25-19, 16-25, 25-16, 18-25) decision to the #2 ranked Hawks of New Paltz. With the loss the Roadrunners fall to 2-5 overall on the year and the Hawks jump ahead to 8-2 overall.
Ramapo dropped game one, 25-19 before bouncing back and tying up the match with a game two, 25-16 win. It wasn't enough for Ramapo as the Hawks took games three and four earning the 3-1 win.
Ramapo was led by sophomore
Justin Feigeles who posted nine kills while
Paul Close and
Patrick Wixted collected seven and six kills respectively. The team hit a combined 27-80 with 15 errors hitting .150. Rookie setter Mikhael Erumshalimski dished out 20 assists and Feigeles and
Spencer Shickora each picked up six digs on defense.
Nick Amos put down four assisted blocks and Feigeles put away three assisted blocks of his own on the night.
For New Paltz, Jake Roessler and Andy Fishman led the team with 16 and 13 kills respectively. Christopher Husman collected eight kills and the Hawks combined hitting .298 with 53 kills on 104 attempts and 22 errors. Christian Smith dished out 36 assists and Anthony Bonilla picked up a team leading ten digs on defense. Steven Woessner put away six assisted blocks and Roessler added four.
Ramapo returns to action on Friday, February 12th as they travel to Baruch for a 7pm match-up.
