LANE LEADS RAMAPO OVER CCNY 73-47

New York, NY:  The Ramapo College women's basketball team dominated non-conference foe the City College of New York, 73-47 tonight on the road. The Roadrunners improve to 5-4 overall while the Beavers now stand at 2-7 on the year.

Four Roadrunners posted double-digits in scoring tonight with Kellie Lane leading the team with 19 points including a perfect night going 5-5 from the field, 2-2 from the three-point line and 7-7 from the free throw line. Shelby Ringer posted 12 points off the bench hitting 4-7 from beyond the three-point line with four assists while Jenna Harsh and Tia Solomon each collected ten points. Solomon led the team with seven rebounds while Bridgette Buckalew led the team with five assists including six points.

Ramapo opened up a quick 6-0 lead as Lane and Ringer sank back-to-back three-pointers to opening the scoring in the game. The Roadrunners led the entire game including a 25-14 lead after the first quarter while they led 44-26 lead at the half. In the final two quarters the Roadrunners outscored CCNY 29-21. Ramapo out rebounded the Beavers 31-24 and caused 13 turnovers. The Roadrunners shot 59% (28-47) from the field, 72% (8-11) from the three-point line and 69% (9-13) from the free throw line.

Erika Richards led CCNY in the game with 12 points, four steals and two assists while Elizabeth Zullo posted 11 points, hitting three baskets from beyond the three-point line. Alexis Akridge added eight points and Marissa Olsen posted a game-high nine rebounds. The team shot 29 % (14-48) from the field, 33% (5-15) from the three-point line and 66% (14-21) from the free throw line.

The Roadrunners return to action on December 30th when they travel to Danbury, CT for the HAT City Classic for a 5pm game against the host, Western Connecticut State University.
